Our History

Labor Day Weekend, 1980.  DiAnn and I arrived in Cincinnati after traveling in evangelistic ministry moving from one church to another conducting revival meetings 1 or 2 weeks in each place.  Our home was a 31 ft. Airstream Travel Trailer. Our purpose for  coming to Cincinnati was to help a pastor for 30 days.  Consequently we stayed in Cincinnati and for the past 34 years we have been pastor’s  of what is now Northside Community Church We were having service at 4828 Vine St., (St. Bernard area), until March, 1990 when we purchased  a building at 4024 Forest Ave., (Norwood Area).  In December, 1996 we were able to purchase 1 and 1/4 acres of land with the, what is now the annex building situated on the property with parking for 50 cars.  In February, 1998 we were able to purchase the adjoining 2 acres of land to expand our parking lot and eventually, March, 2001 build the larger facility.   In July, 1997 we moved our church to this location after selling the building in the Norwood area to another church.  We had service in this location until April, 2002 when we moved to the larger building. In November, 1991 we begin conducting Bingo which we used the proceeds to supplement the finances of the church.  Due to the success of Bingo we were able to expand our feeding program for the needy where we would provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for approximately 400 families plus we gave food to families who requested help throughout the year as well as a clothing program for those in need.  Each year for several years we would have  a “Kids Fest” where we supplied numerous children with “Back to School” supplies...paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, backpacks, etc.  For the “Kids Fest” we would have a picnic with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks and invite kids from the Greater Cincinnati area.  We would have from 500  to 600 kids at this picnic Due to competition from casinos, internet cafes and other Bingos, making Bingo profitable became a real struggle.  After loosing money for about 3 months we decided to suspend Bingo operations at the end of June, 2013.
